Tahini Honey Popcorn
Updated: Apr 20
My favorite night all alone is a bowl of popcorn with olive oil, salt and nutritional yeast with a good movie. I'm not a fan of kettle corn, but this is a nice variation with tahini and honey. Makes me think of halvah - sweet and crunchy.
2 cups popped corn
1 1/2 teaspoons tahini
1 1/2 teaspoons honey
1 tablespoon sunflower seeds
Place popcorn in a bowl. Drizzle with tahini and honey. Add sunflower seeds and enjoy!
Nutritional information
Is this healthy? that's is the million dollar question.
Corn is highly reactive, so if you're allergic to corn then no, popcorn is not healthy.
Plenty of people are fine with corn, so yes it's healthier than a bag of corn chips. The oil in tahini is fresh, healthy and unheated while the corn chips are fried in hot oil. It's not the oil itself, but the frying process that damages the oil.
Healthier than a bag of corn chips, but not designed to replace your evening salad. Fortunately I don't have evenings alone that often, so I don't have to switch up my ritual of popcorn for dinner on my evenings alone.
